Maj. Gen. Shawn Manke was named the 32nd Adjutant General of the Minnesota National Guard.

As the Adjutant General Manke is the senior leader of the Minnesota National Guard, which includes the Army National Guard, the Air National Guard and all joint (combined Army and Air Guard) units and personnel in Minnesota. Minnesota's Adjutant General is the administrative head of the state's Department of Military Affairs whose duties and responsibilities are defined in Minnesota State Statute 190.09. The Adjutant General serves for a term of seven years and is a state employee appointed by the governor of Minnesota.
