133rd Air National Guard Base Seeks Public Input On Soil Testing Results Action Plan

October 30, 2020 (MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota) —   Three locations at the Minnesota National Guard’s 133rd Air Wing at Fort Snelling underwent mandated soil testing to identify any potential contamination concern.  Soil testing results of three locations at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Air National Guard Base returned results indicating that concentration levels were not detected or below Minnesota Pollution Control Agency criteria for constituents of concern in soil and ground water at tested locations.

The three locations were the Former Vehicle Wash Rack (RW011), Former Contaminated Soil Piles (CD012), and Former Pump House Dry Well (TU014).  No further action is recommended at these sites based on the reported results.  The summary of the evaluation process and recommendation are explained in the No Further Response Action Plan.

In accordance with Air National Guard (ANG) and U.S. Department of Defense policy requirements, the public is invited to review and comment on the plan located at https://www.133aw.ang.af.mil/Portals/31/Final%20Soil%20Test%20Results%20sm.

The ANG will consider all comments received during the public comment period (30 October 2020 through 30 November 2020). Comments may be submitted via mail or email and must include the name, address and telephone number of the sender.
