Maj. Tad Hervas was born January 16, 1961, in Cumberland, Wisconsin. Hervas graduated from Coon Rapids High School in Coon Rapids, Minn., in 1979 and entered the U.S. Air Force through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, serving as a lieutenant in the first Gulf War. Maj. Hervas deployed to Iraq in 2004 and was deployed again in 2009 with the 34th Red Bull Infantry Division.
