Minnesota National Guard Soldiers Deploying to Middle East

MEDIA ADVISORY: For Immediate Release
May 6, 2023

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Tomorrow, the 147th Human Resources Company will hold a departure ceremony for Soldiers deploying to Kuwait.

“The 147th HRC has been a high-demand unit with multiple overseas deployments as well as state active duty in their lineage, and I have no doubt they will be successful again on their upcoming deployment,” said Army Lt. Col. Joel Stamp, the 1347th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion Commander.

The 147th HRC supports missions, which enable successful deployment and redeployment of units throughout the area. They have the task of personnel accountability to ensure each service member that comes into the country is properly accounted for and that their personal and operational readiness is optimized for the mission at hand.

Approximately 25 Soldiers will deploy from the company. This will be the first deployment for more than 67 percent of the Soldiers and the third deployment for 13 percent.

Editor’s Note: Media members are invited to attend the departure ceremony on May 7, at 2 p.m. at the Donaldson Company, 1400 W 94th St, Bloomington, Minn., 55431. Media can RSVP to Lt. Col. Kristen Augé at 952-913-5979 or kristen.l.auge.mil@army.mil.
