Welcome home ceremony planned for St. Cloud aviators

June 27, 2019 (ST. CLOUD, Minn.) – More than 50 soldiers from the Minnesota National Guard’s Company C, 2-211th General Support Aviation Battalion will be officially welcomed home during a ceremony, June 29, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at the St. Cloud Rivers Edge Convention Center.

The soldiers returned to Minnesota in early May after a nine-month deployment to Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield. The June 29 event will be the first time the soldiers are back together as a unit to participate in a reintegration event.

While deployed, the soldiers provided aerial medical evacuation support in the area of operations, supporting all branches of the U.S. Department of Defense. The unit flies the UH-60L Black Hawk helicopter which is specially equipped for its medical evacuation mission.

Media members are invited to attend the Welcome Home ceremony at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29, at the St. Cloud Rivers Edge Convention Center, 10 4th Ave. South, St. Cloud, MN. Interested media should contact the Minnesota National Guard public affairs office at 651-282-4410 or mn.ng.web@mail.mil.
